About the Role:

MERJ Fleet Services Inc is looking for a skilled and dependable Second Shift Diesel Road Service Technician to join our team in Buffalo, NY. This is a hands-on, mobile role where you'll keep commercial fleets running strong — out on the road, solving problems, and delivering expert diesel repairs when it matters most. Responsibilities:

Perform on-site diesel engine diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance for commercial vehicles

Respond to road service calls and breakdowns during second shift hours

Troubleshoot and repair heavy-duty truck systems including brakes, electrical, drivetrain, and suspension

Conduct preventive maintenance services on diesel-powered fleet vehicles

Document all work orders, parts used, and service records accurately

Communicate repair status and findings clearly to dispatch and customers

Maintain service vehicle, tools, and equipment in safe, working condition

Requirements:

Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy-duty truck technician

Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, electrical, and brake systems

Ability to work independently in a road service / mobile repair environment

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL a plus

Own tools required; specialty tools provided

Availability to work second shift hours consistently

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills under pressure

Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious work ethic
