  • Responsibilities

    Position Overview

    The Second Shift Project Technician is responsible for performing specialty and cleaning within a Class A commercial property. This role requires consistent execution of project-based work, proper use of equipment, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently in a high-expectation environment. The technician will also support team operations and step into a leadership role when needed.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Execute scheduled project work including floor care, detailing, and specialty cleaning tasks
    • Operate and maintain commercial cleaning equipment such as auto scrubbers, burnishers, extractors, and vacuums
    • Follow all safety protocols, including proper chemical handling and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
    • Complete assigned work within established timeframes while maintaining high quality standards
    • Identify issues during execution and take corrective action or escalate as needed
    • Support weekend work and overtime assignments as required
    • Assist in guiding team members when assigned
    • Maintain clean and organized equipment rooms and storage areas

    Project Work Includes

    • Floor care: scrubbing, refinishing, burnishing, and spot treatments
    • Carpet care: extraction and stain removal
    • High and low dusting, detail cleaning, and touchpoint sanitation
    • Glass and interior partition cleaning
    • Periodic deep cleaning tasks as assigned
    • Other custodial-related project work as needed

    Qualifications

    • Experience in commercial cleaning or project-based janitorial work preferred
    • Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and basic maintenance
    • Understanding of safety practices and chemical usage
    • Ability to work independently and remain task-focused
    • Strong work ethic with a flexible, can-do attitude
    • Willingness to support team needs and develop leadership skills
    • Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and grow within the role

    Requirements

    • Must be able to pass an extensive background check
    • Must be physically capable of operating equipment and performing manual tasks throughout the shift
    • Must be available for weekends and overtime as required
    • Must be a union member in good standing or willing to join as a condition of employment
