We invite you to help build with us--leverage our proven strategies to build strong communities and influence local, regional and global networks, and add your own contribution to our growing team and portfolio of programs.The OpportunityThis is a paid internship opportunity to support GET (Gender Equity in Tech) Cities programs in Chicago. GET Cities is led by SecondMuse and Break Through Tech and aims to shift power to women, trans and non-binary people in tech with a focus on Black, Indigenous, and people of color and to ensure that the tech industry is an engine for, not against, equity and economic justice. The Intern would help to assist with implementing programming, partnerships, and community curation for the Chicago programs. The role will report directly to the GET Cities Chicago Manager and Director.As a candidate for the internship, you are passionate about advancing the representation of women, trans and non-binary people in tech, have strong time management and communication skills, maintain a balance between flexibility and focus, and are independently proactive. You are excited to learn about planning and hosting events, building relationships and connecting partners to support gender inclusion in tech.Essential FunctionsWork with City teams to support operations, outreach, and event execution. Coordinate scheduling and execution of virtual events.Assist the City teams in tracking conversations, contacts, organizations, and opportunities to partner. Help track new and existing relationships, while empowering the community, including visionaries, collaborators and partners. Meet regularly with team to provide clear and concise updates and informed research needed to advance the GET Cities program(s).
