    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position is expected to be a fully engaged change agent with a mindset focused on delivering current and future business results. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, this role requires a unique individual with a multi-disciplinary background who is eager to learn and do new and different things.

    With limited direct supervision the successful candidate will assume ownership for supporting business development efforts, solving practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists, and identifying/implementing the necessary process and/or systems to achieve a defined outcome. The best candidate for this job will be able to take surprises in stride and move forward in a new or different direction with renewed vigor and determination; it requires professionalism and business maturity, because plans frequently change without notice.

    The range of tasks is wide and diverse; this includes but is not limited to:

    • Human Resources (HR) administration, processing, and compliance; this includes talent management and on-boarding, in-house benefits administration, job classification, performance management, associate relations, policy/procedure management, recordkeeping, etc.; reviewing, analyzing, and recommending appropriate action items to mitigate risk is paramount.
    • Collecting timesheets and other employee data for 3rd party payroll processing.
    • Assisting organization leadership and other stakeholders with grant and contract management activities and/or other funding or program initiatives; this includes drafting and submitting proposals and associated supporting documents, administering the budget and expense tracking, and providing accurate, timely reports, status updates, and forecasts.
    • Conducting research, preparing data and presentations, managing/overseeing special projects, and handling information requests and confidential company data and materials.
    • Acting as Company Ambassador & Office Concierge:  assumes ownership for efficient day-to-day operations and for maintaining the company’s physical office space in a way that promotes the comfort and safety of all staff and visitors.
    • Assists in managing/posting brand-reinforcing messages on the company website and social media to supplement and expand other advertising and marketing efforts to ensure the Company is reaching as many prospective customers as possible and elevating our product as the solution to their needs/problems.
    • Examples of other administrative duties associated with the role include filing Board minutes and other documents, and otherwise performing other professional service duties as assigned to support the CEO, the Board of Directors and company business partners as needed (e.g. preparing correspondence, arranging conference calls, scheduling travel and meetings, etc.).

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum entry requirements are a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university plus six (6) years of work experience in this field or an equivalent combination of education and experience; must demonstrate strong working knowledge of HR best practices and thorough understanding of employment law.
    • High comfort level with technology, software and spreadsheets, including use of all Microsoft office products (Day 1, “Expert-level” proficiency in Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Word; with advanced-level Excel skills is a must), on-line meeting tools, smart phones, customer relationship management (CRM) and other technology tools such as smartphones and other mobile, web and desktop equipment and applications. 
    • HR certification highly desired, but not required, from either HRCI (PHR, SPHR) or SHRM (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP). Work experience in a light manufacturing environment is another plus!

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting; The employee is constantly required to talk, hear, stand or sit for extended periods of time while using a computer, telephone or other productivity devices to communicate with other personnel and conduct business. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently, uses hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects and computer keyboards. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, squat, turn/twist, and smell. The employee must frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 10 pounds and/or occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Equally important, this job also requires the incumbent to be physically present in the manufacturing facility on a daily basis to communicate with other personnel and conduct business; this is a light industrial work environment.  Frequent sitting, standing, moving forward/back/side-to-side, and working around machinery and moving parts is required; exposure to electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, sealants, solvents, and other compounds is possible; exposure to extreme temperatures and/or work space restrictions is also possible.
