  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking to add a skilled 5th-8th Grade English Language Arts Teacher to our team of passionate and caring Christian educators who will help us enhance the intellectual, spiritual and social development of our children. Your duties will include planning, implementing and assessing lessons, designing a teaching plan and using activities and instructional methods to motivate and engage 5th-8th grade English Language Arts students.

    You should be a qualified professional with great attention to children's needs, passion for impacting the lives of children, and ability to teach children with patience and creativity.

    Secondary ELA Teacher responsibilities are:

    • Provide ELA instruction during 4 class periods per day.

    • Develop and implement core curriculum for 5th-8th grade ELA students to meet their varying educational, social and emotional needs

    • Design lesson plans and ensure that they are imparted according to each student's ability to grasp concepts

    • Establish and enforce behavioral rules in class and ensure that they are followed by each student

    • Administer exams and tests and check and grade copies and papers to determine how well students have performed

    • Adapt teaching methods to each individual student's ability to handle instruction

    • Assess and evaluate individual students to determine their strengths and weaknesses

    • Plan and conduct activities to ensure that instructional programs are balanced and provide students with an opportunity to observe and question

    • Instruct student in groups and individually, depending on their ability to handle pressure

    • Observe students' behavior and performance and intervene in adverse situations between students

    • Instruct and lead students in the use and care of materials and equipment such computers and projectors

    • Prepare and implement remedial programs or classes for students falling behind on targets

    • Confer with parents to provide them with insight into their children's progress and provide suggestions for improvements where necessary

    • Work together with administration staff, discussing your progress and sharing ideas * Ensure the compliance with teaching standards and safety regulations

    • BA degree in education and/or other relevant license or certificate
