The Finance and Accounting team of our NY based, SaaS client is a vital part of their organization, providing financial reporting data that informs important business decisions. Their team is looking for a Staff Accountant who will collaborate with the finance team to deliver against tasks essential to day-to-day operations, as well as contribute to larger projects and initiatives.

What you will do
- Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assist with monthly close process.
- Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
- Assist with maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conducting internal audits.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Respond to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Process and record accounts receivable transactions and assist with other billing related tasks including some billing and collections analysis.
- Communicate and follow up with customers, as well as employees, regarding collections in the accounts receivable process.
- Apply cash receipts and perform deposits reconciliation.
- Assist with sales and other tax filings
- Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed
- Assist the Controller as needed
Desired Skills and Experience
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- General knowledge and understanding of basic accounting concepts and GAAP
- Sense of urgency, self-motivated with the ability to multi-task.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally.
- Highly organized, positive, team player with 'can do' attitude and demeanor.
- Professional demeanor and able to maintain the confidential nature of work
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Sage Intacct and Salesforce a huge plus!
