    Job Description

    We’re currently searching for an experienced Security Associate to work the second shift (4:00 pm–12:30 am) at our Midway, KY, distribution center. In this position, you’ll help maintain a safe and secure environment for our associates and visitors, while also working to protect company assets. A key part of your role will be maintaining a high-visibility presence at the security control and monitoring station and while patrolling the floor. In addition, should any health and safety issues arise, you will be responsible for communicating and directing emergency personnel to the site and working closely with first responders in the administration of first aid.

    A day at Lakeshore looks like this:

    • Monitoring and controlling access to our employee entrances in part by checking associates’ badges as they arrive
    • Validating individuals’ employment status and logging any associates without proper identification
    • Securing the premises and protecting personnel by patrolling the facility, monitoring surveillance equipment and inspecting doors and other points of entry to ensure the site is properly locked and secure
    • Randomly patrolling the facility
    • Observing for signs of theft and disorder; investigating disturbances or suspicious activity
    • Preventing loss and damage by immediately reporting irregularities, directing visitors to the main office entrance, ensuring adherence to the facility’s badge policy, preventing unpermitted individuals from entering the facility, etc.
    • Maintaining the work environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls (such as BAF, heater units and air exchange units)
    • Completing daily reports to record observations, occurrences and surveillance activities
    • Performing basic first aid and CPR as required
  • Qualifications

    • Minimum of 2 years of proven work experience as a security guard or in a similar relevant position
    • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
    • Demonstrated surveillance skills, paired with sound judgment and objectivity
    • Working knowledge of and ability to use security monitoring systems and emergency equipment
    • Solid understanding of distribution operations
    • Dependability and the ability to maintain good attendance
    • High level of integrity and professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Detail-oriented mindset
    • Willingness to adhere to all company safety and security policies
    • Ability to perform all essential functions (with or without accommodation) without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of yourself or others
