Overview:
To provide a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors by patrolling campus grounds, enforcing guidelines, and responding to safety concerns and emergencies. The Security Officer supports the educational mission of Paul D. Camp Community College by promoting a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and fostering a welcoming and respectful campus community.
Job Duties:
- Inspecting and patrolling assigned premises regularly.
- Monitoring surveillance cameras and reporting suspicious behavior.
- Communicating with law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical personnel.
- Monitoring public access and ensuring the security of all personnel and visitors.
- Responding to alarms and analyzing security footage.
- Investigating suspicious behavior, incidents, and security breaches.
- Ability to use email and other computer programs
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work nights, days, and weekends, as needed, at all college locations in Franklin, Suffolk, and Smithfield
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Ability to follow instructions
- Must be willing to wear a uniform and present a neat and professional appearance.
- Registered as a security officer or Campus Security Officer with DCJS (Preferred).
- Outstanding surveillance and observation skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and confidentiality.
- Strong reporting skills.
- Working knowledge of public safety, security operations, and procedures.
- Knowledge of state laws and regulations.
- Trained in First Aid and CPR certified.
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Pay rate: $17.00/hr.
Schedule: Part time
