    Job Description

    All Security Officers must attempt to provide protection from any element, factor or situation, which may jeopardize the welfare, security, and integrity of employees, guests, and Wynn and Encore property and assets. In addition to providing a safe environment, all Security Officers will perform their duties in accordance with the Wynn policies, procedures, Core Behaviors and Brand Values.

    SACOs are responsible maintaining a high level of security in “Back of House” (BOH) areas on property, by screening all personnel, guests, and items that enter their vicinity. SACOs are required to report and/or respond to suspicious circumstances/individuals that occur in or enter their vicinity. SACOs may also be required to respond to security threats or medical scenarios while conducting their duties. SACOs may also need to respond or support other security elements on property in the event of a crisis or emergency. SACOs must be proficient and experienced in physical security and anti-terrorism measures. SACOS must also be proficient in, firearms handling, emergency first aid/CPR, use of force continuum, elements of deadly force, intermediary weapon application, de-escalation techniques, access control, defensive tactics, and application of federal, state and local laws. In addition, to security operations SACOs are required to provide guest service, which may include providing directions, recommendations, and general assistance, within the normal limits of their assigned duty. SACOs will conduct themselves in a professional, courteous, and respectful demeanor in all situations.

    SACO essential functions will be conducted in accordance with the Wynn policies and procedures, as well as department specific guidelines. SACOs have specific responsibilities to include, but are not limited to the following areas and criteria:

    • Will conduct quarterly proficiency and development training, including a firearms training and qualifications and close quarter combat training, and may be terminated if not completed within the department specific guidelines.
    • Responsible for safety of Executive Personnel when assigned to the Wynn Executive Office post or during crisis response.
    • Conduct a visual inspection of every individual and item entering their vicinity for potential threats.
    • Direct employees through the magnetometer at employee entrances.
    • Monitor magnetometer for the presence of metal, indicating possible weapons to include knives, electronic devices (such as Tasers), and firearms.
    • Utilize hand held magnetometer to detect metal on a person.
    • Screen carry in items by conducting a physical search of bags and items inbound and outbound.
    • Screen carry in items by scanning on the x-ray scanner; observe machine screen to detect weapons or contraband; confiscate restricted items when necessary or conduct appropriate check in process.
    • Operate handheld radio to maintain two-way communication while at security post.
    • Maintain a good state of security in area of operation and report any security violations to management and Security Communications Center (SCC); request additional security support as needed.
    • Provide medical assistance, to any employee or guest, in accordance with their medical training, until proper First Responders arrive and take control of the emergency.
    • Monitor employee badge system, while employees “scan-in” to property; respond and report to management when unauthorized individuals attempt to gain access to the Back of House (BOH) area.
    • Request escort assistance for any unauthorized personnel to gain access to BOH when approved by higher management.
    • Investigate and provide support for the “Lost and Found” items that may be retrieved by guest at security podiums.
    • Maintain shift activity log and pass on pertinent information or information pertaining to ongoing incidents to the relieving officer at the completion of post.
    • May be required to assist civil and law enforcement authorities in administrative proceedings and provide voluntary statements, in reference to involved incidents, up to and including testimony in court.
    • Appropriately document all incidents, in accordance with the security department guidelines, to include voluntary statements and department specific incident/reporting requirements.
    • Greet all guests and employees in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Facilitate guest requests and complaints, in accordance with their assigned duties; request support as needed when unable to immediately assist.
    • Remain in compliance with all Wynn policies and procedures and department specific guidelines, to include the attendance policy and firearms qualification policy.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must be able to obtain and possess a valid Nevada Gaming Registration, an Alcohol Awareness Card (AES), First Aid & CPR certifications, must acquire a valid Nevada Driver's License upon employment and must be eligible to obtain a Nevada Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit.
    • Must attend a range evaluation and demonstrate safe firearms handling procedures and proficiency during required training/qualifications.
    • 2 years of previous armed security experience preferred, but not required.
    • Must be capable of passing routine physical and mental exam (s).
    • Upon employment, must relocate to Las Vegas, Nevada.
    • Must be 21 years of age or older.
    • High school graduate or equivalent is required, college graduate preferred.
    • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to work alone and within a team environment.
    • Ability to communicate in English fluently and professionally. Additional languages are welcomed.
    • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, along with a working knowledge of basic computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook email etc).

    SHOOTING TEST: Two courses of fire conducted on a two-ring target, firing 33 rounds total.
    Course of Fire will be conducting in the standing position from the holster:

    15 yd line-fire 2 rounds in 6 seconds.
    12 yd line-fire 6 rounds in 10 seconds.
    7 yd line- fire 6 rounds, combat reload, fire 6 rounds in 14 seconds.
    3 yd line-fire 7 rounds in 7 seconds.
    3 yd- fire 2 rounds in 2.5 seconds
    3 yd- fire 2 rounds in 2.5 seconds
    3 yd- fire 2 rounds in 2.5 seconds
