General Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Security Supervisor, the Switchboard Operator manages the switchboard, and paging system. Performs light clerical duties as assigned. The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
Answers and routes all incoming calls from inside and outside of the hospital by PBX console or paging equipment.
Provides physician answering service functions to include taking and communicating messages to physician by PBX console or paging equipment.
Provides communication service between the hospital, off-site facilities, employees, physicians, and the general public.
Assists with the maintenance of hospital phone directories and on-call lists, etc.
Operates the PBX console, headsets and other related equipment.
Performs light clerical duties as assigned.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area
Requirements:
Formal Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Work Experience:
No experience required. Minimum of 1-year experience with multiple telephone lines preferred.
