    POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) will support the development of company-wide data analytics and reporting.  Working closely with business leaders and employees at all levels, this role will help identify needs, recommend KPIs, build BI reports and dashboards, analyze data, and recommend business process changes.

    The ideal candidate has proven hands-on experience creating data visualization tools that solve problems and proactively identify growth opportunities via data analysis and process improvement.

    This role is based in Louisville, Kentucky.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

    BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

    • Gather business requirements for BI and Analytics
    • Mine data by using databases, statistics, and eventually machine learning to identify trends in vast datasets
    • Query data to identify answers from datasets
    • Help build corporate key performance indicators and benchmarks
    • Compare current performance data to historical data to track performance against goals and benchmarks
    • Expand central data repository and develop and maintain dashboards and other visual representations to allow easy and fast consumption of data
    • Prepare reports for cross-functional stakeholders
    • Coach business leaders how to best utilize data to grow the business

    DATA MANAGEMENT

    • Support and maintain data strategies and roadmaps
    • Troubleshoot and maintain ELT with the Power BI Service
    • Document data management processes

    DATA QUALITY

    • Partner with IT, R&D and other leaders to maintain data governance, standards, and processes to protect the quality of data domains
    • Perform root cause analysis and make remediation recommendations regarding data quality issues
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities at this time.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Skilled in Power BI and Tableau preferred
    • Knowledge of canonical models and enterprise data architectural standards with a long-term outlook
    • Strong working knowledge of multiple flavors of SQL
    • Basic working knowledge of at least 2 of the following:  DAX, M, R, and Python
    • Skilled in data management, data modeling, data types, table joins, and data administration
    • Ability to facilitate and define of reporting and analytics business requirements
    • Knowledge of mathematics and statistics
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
    • Knowledge of business intelligence best practices, processes, tools, and standards
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work across all levels and all functions of the company
    • Skilled in both business acumen and technical acumen
    • Ability to research, recommend, learn, and deploy additional BI and AI tools in the future
    • Ability to be a self-starter and a quick learner

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's Degree; in lieu of degree, five (5) years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, predictive analytics, computer science, or artificial intelligence
    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in general data analytics
    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience using data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau to create dashboards and reports
    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience translating user requirements into easy-to-use and functional dashboards and reports following data visualization and design best practices
    • · Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting and maintaining business systems

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Professional office environment
    • Mostly sedentary role

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Must be able to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
    • Must be able to routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines

    POSITION TYPE AND HOURS:

    • Full-Time
    • Monday through Friday from 8:00 – 5:00 p.m.

    TRAVEL:

    • 5% of travel time expected for position
    • Travel to Atlanta office, customer site visits, and conferences
