    Position Summary:

    We are currently seeking an innovative software engineer with proven AR/VR/MR development experience who enjoys working with nascent technology to drive innovation.  You will be working as part of a small and agile software development team building interactive experiences and prototypes to help determine how mixed reality can positively influence the insurance and real estate industries.  

    This role will entail integrating cutting-edge hardware and software research into high-fidelity, high-concept, real-time interactive software demonstrations to communicate the potential of these disruptive technologies to the broader business, and ultimately to our customers.  If you are an AR/VR/MR specialist with a passion for working in new spaces, a love for solving novel interaction problems, and an aptitude for making delightful user experiences, you will thrive in our collaborative environment.

    This role is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

    Essential Functions and Duties:

    • Analyze, evaluate, design, develop, integrate, debug and test real-time AR and VR software for advanced prototypes and user experiences

    • Collaborate in a team environment across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines, making the architectural tradeoffs required to rapidly deliver software solutions

    • Work in cooperation with designers, artists, and animators to implement, polish, and debug high quality interactive experiences and systems

    • Develop software for a variety of new AR/VR/MR devices, including novel sensing systems, tracking systems, mapping systems, imaging systems and haptic devices

    • Write high performance code, debug complex problems that span systems, prioritize ruthlessly and get things done with a high level of efficiency and quality

    • Learn constantly, educate others, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of AR/VR/MR problem solving

    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

    Education and Desired Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience creating software for games, real-time systems or in other fields

    • Working knowledge of 3D math and linear algebra

    • Proven track record of software development, including shipping one or more products using standard software development toolsets such as source control and continuous integration systems

    • Problem solving and optimization experience

    • Cross-discipline and cross-culture communication and collaboration experience

    • Experience working with technologies and in problem spaces

    • Experience in 3D graphics pipeline

    • Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal

    • Experience working with current generation VR/AR/MR hardware

    • Experience with UX design

    • Ability to learn new languages, tools, and technologies quickly

    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form

    Recommended Skills:

    • Experience writing shaders
    • Experience with architecting and implementing character control, AI, physics, and other gameplay related systems: UI programming, Graphics, Physics
    • Experience with Object-Oriented programming principles and software architecture
    • Experience writing latency-critical software

    Travel:

    • 5% of travel time expected for this position
    • Travel to Louisville office and conferences
