Washington, DC - based international not-for-profit organization, actively seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Finance & Administration department.  The organization's funding source is composed of gifts from individuals, legacy gifts, corporate and foundation support, events, and in-kind contributions.  Its FY2020 revenue was approximately $31M.  The Senior Accountant reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and supervises two Staff Accountants.  The primary work location is in DC and there are potential international travel opportunities.

The Senior Accountant performs tasks related to operational, general ledger accounting, revenue accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, payroll, audit and compliance, and plays a key role in the organizational month-end close process. The Senior Accountant also helps the management team to ensure compliance with internal controls, audits, and other compliance requirements.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting,  CPA, ACCA, CGMA or CIMA accreditation highly preferred
• Five to seven years of experience in GL accounting functions, experience in managing federal awards is a highly preferred
• Experience in NetSuite accounting software highly desired
• Flexible, culturally sensitive, and exude a "team" attitude
