Seisuke Knife Job Posting High-end Japanese knife shop looking for a sales associate Seisuke Knife's mission is to introduce Japanese culture and traditional craftsmanship to customers by selling high quality Japanese knives. At Seisuke Knife, we believe that a kitchen knife is more than just a simple tool to cut food, but an art piece that a craftsman puts their soul into. We hope to foster an environment where people can come and feel welcomed by our friendly, knowledgeable staff. Even if you know very little about knives and/or sharpening, our staff will work with you every step of the way and answer any questions you may have until you feel comfortable. We are looking for people that: * Have experience communicating effectively with people * Are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about cooking * Are excited to learn about Japanese knives and sharpening * Friendly, positive, actively engaging, and energetic * Excellent Communicator * Organized, responsible, trust-worthy, and reliable * Can handle high volume of sales * Basic computer skills (familiarity with Mac operating system is a plus) * *Japanese language skills appreciated but not required * *Experience sharpening knives by hand on whetstones appreciated but not required Job description: * Customer service and sales of knives * Customer support at the store: welcome and greet customers, recommend knives based on customers needs, operate POS, handle phone calls * Clean up and keep the store clean and tidy * Help with packing and shipping online orders If you fit any of those criteria, we look forward to hearing from you soon! Shift Details: * General hours 10am-5/6pm * 2-3 days off per week, primarily Saturday and Sundays. Treatment and perks * Starting wage $17.50/hr plus pooled tips * 35% employee discount Other We have a small tight knit staff and look forward to adding someone who is passionate about what they do, works well with others, and is flexible.
