Job Description
Select Sales, Inc., a manufacturer’s representative agency based in Downers Grove, IL, is looking for a data analyst role to support their management and sales teams. This position would include data analysis, item content management in customer portals, preparing marketing materials, trade show support and other functions. Training will be provided. A few of the required competencies are:
· Solid general computer knowledge and the capability to learn intermediate to advanced skills
· Affinity for numbers
· Willingness to learn new things every day and wear different hats daily in a small company atmosphere
Select Sales offers a compensation package that includes $45,000-$55,000 base salary, a 401K plan with company match and health insurance.
What are the job requirements?
· College degree and/or professional Data/IT experience
· Typical workday is 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday
Skills Summary:
Must have knowledge of or be able to learn (in order of importance):
Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills such as Power Query, Macros, etc.
Web-based application builder Quickbase for our Order Entry system
Microsoft Access or other Relational Databases such as SQL, etc.
Google App Sheet to create simple apps primarily used by our field sales team
Ability to think critically and produce insights from numbers/data
Preferred knowledge of/ability to learn:
Other Microsoft 365 applications such as Power BI, Power Automate, etc.
Web scraper/crawler applications
Bonus knowledge of/ability to learn:
Data Science tools such as Stata, R, SPSS, etc.
Any programming language
Hardware industry basics (information about our products or any of the hardware co-op chains such as Ace, True Value or Do It Best)
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
· Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
· Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
· Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
· Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets
· Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
· Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
