    Job Description

    The Senior Project Manager designs, communicates, and implements an operational plan for completing the project; monitors progress and performance against the project plan; takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.  Identifies, develops, and gathers the resources to complete the project.  Prepares designs and work specifications; develops project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.  Communicates with other operational areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project.  Conducts meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project.  Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet project targets and milestones.  Influences department’s strategy.  Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work are performed without direction.  Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: • Serves as implementation lead for large scale software projects • Manages projects that include software rollouts and enhancements and, as necessary, IT hardware • Participates in the hands-on portion of pharmacy engineering projects, where required • Strives to become a subject matter expert on all software for the automated pharmacy lines • Ensures all projects follow the internally developed Engineering Life Cycle Model, including, but not limited to, scope, budget, design, development, test, install, train, documentation, spend, and maintenance transition • Participates, where required, in Factory Acceptance Tests, User Acceptance Tests, and Go-Live activities • Works closely and builds relationships with partnering teams such as operations, purchasing, networking, IT, etc. 

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor of Science or above • Strong Technical Acumen • 5-7 years’ experience with large scale software implementations • Ability to read and understand fundamentals of languages like: C#, .NET, SQL and C++ • Detail oriented with a “Can-Do” attitude • Demonstrated ability successfully managed concurrent, complex projects PREFERENCES: • B.S. or above in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree • 3-5 years’ experience leading and coordinating teams • Experience with automation software implementations • 3+ years of engineering or project management experience in an automated production line environment • Analytical problem solving capabilities • Skilled in negotiation and expectation management • Experience with process & procedure development • Ability to analyze needs, risks and objectives • Experience with configuration and change management • Demonstrated ability to develop and convey recommended solutions to internal clients to resolve issues • Excellent communication skills in technical, business, and vendor interactions • Experience in mail-order pharmacy
