    Job Description

    This position will create, develop, plan, write and edit operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for manufacturing and quality organizations. The Technical Writer is responsible for working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to prepare new or changes to existing technical manuals, instruction manuals and other pertinent documents as part of an overall document plan. The Technical Writer is responsible for implementing the document workflow process as a formal written procedure as well as being responsible for supporting the development and revision of procedures by applying document standards, criteria and adhering to timelines. Position will require researching and translating technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for non-technical and technical users. They may document engineering processes and specifications. They will produce products that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards. • Documents include, but are not limited to: documentation for custom applications and hardware, maintenance guides, site preparation guides, crating/uncrating guides, upgrade instructions. • Documentation will apply to hardware, software, or both. • Preparation of documents includes (1) interviewing subject matter experts, (2) writing, editing and proofreading text and (3) creating and/or modifying graphics (digital photographs, screen capture images, line drawings and diagrams, flow charts, etc.). • Documentation is developed for distribution in electronic form from established templates. • Maintain necessary department standards (style guides, FrameMaker templates, etc.).

    PRIMARY SKILLS:

    • Experience with Microsoft Office products required. Experience with SAP, and/or Altium, and/or Solidworks preferred. • Two years of technical writing experience in Medical Device Manufacturing preferred. Regulated Industry experience REQUIRED. • Minimum 3 - 5 years professional technical writing experience related to engineering disciplines (software development, electrical or mechanical engineering, etc.). • Must have strong writing, editing, organizational and communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. • Strong experience using industry-standard tools such as FrameMaker and Acrobat as well as MS Office. • Ability and willingness to work with engineers and other co‑workers in a cooperative team environment. • Ability to work with minimal supervision. • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects.

    EDUCATION :

    A/BS in English, Literature, Technical Writing or any other relevant course
