    JOB SUMMARY:

    Responsible for the development of analytical tools and self-adjusting algorithms used for the automation of critical business functions. The position involves communicating data findings to both technology leaders and business managers to help the company overcome business challenges. The data scientist explores and analyzes information from multiple sources in order to gain maximum insight that can give the company a competitive advantage.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Maintain existing Data Science solutions while looking for opportunities to improve them
    • Lead complex projects and ensure their complete and accurate execution with emphasis on delivering business value
    • Identifies opportunities to collect new data to enhance the business value
    • Conducts statistical modeling and experiment design
    • Discovers “stories” told by the data
    • Tests and validates predictive models
    • Implements automated processes for efficiently producing scale models
    • Generates algorithms and creates self-adjusting computer models
    • Collaborates with database engineers and other scientists
    • Conducts scalable data research on and off the cloud

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    •  4+ Years of experience in applying statistics, machine learning, algorithms development, predictive modeling and advanced mathematics to solve complex problems
    • 2+ Years of experience using R
    • 3+ Years of experience using Python
    • 4+ Years of SQL
    • Demonstrates excellent code writing abilities
    • Has strong critical thinking skills and the ability to relate them to the products or services the company is producing
    • Displays understanding of and ability to use programming languages like Python and SQL
    • Objectivity and openness to others views, providing solutions and creative input
    • Provides and welcomes feedback
    • Must be able to adjust when there is a shift in priorities
    • Excellent communicator with individuals and groups at all levels
    • Detail oriented, organized and able to manage user expectations
    • Good organizational, time management, and listening skills
    • Self-motivated

    TRAINING AND EXPERIENCES

    • Python
    • R
    • Microsoft SQL server 2008 R2 or later
    • AWS Machine Learning
    • Required: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Physics, or Computer Science
    • Preferred: Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Physics, or Computer Science
