The goal of the SelectQuote internship program is to provide an opportunity to develop industry related knowledge, and enhance skills that are transferable to any type of professional setting. No matter what your skills and professional experience, a SelectQuote internship is a chance to develop them even further. For this reason, along with the day to day intern duties, SelectQuote interns will work together on a multitude of special projects, community events, and fun activities throughout the duration of the internship program. We are looking to hire a Data Analyst Intern to join our Life division for the summer of 2020. This position will offer the individual the opportunity to complete meaningful project work, using and strengthening their abilities with in demand data tools. The Data Analyst Intern will apply a statistical problem solving approach to questions relating to SelectQuote's Operational strategy. This individual will also write and maintain automated reporting for leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Conduct analyses and communicate findings to help guide strategy
• Clean and transform data from a variety of different sources
• Create and maintain automated, real time report for management stakeholders
• Collaborate with stakeholders to validate data for integrity and reliability

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Python programming experience (Pandas, Sklearn, MatPlotLib, Dash)
• Some exposure to querying SQL databases
• Experience extracting data from APIs'
• Curious, creative problem solver
• Some exposure to commonly used dashboard software like Tableau of PowerBI

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Availability starting Summer 2020 Early May- Early August
• Currently enrolled in Junior-Senior year of college/university
• Degree focused in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science
• Relevant previous internship experience or the completion of a project that demonstrates aptitude for programing and statistics
• Demonstrated experience with at least one programming language (Python, R, MATLAB, Javascript, etc.)
• A solid understanding of statistical concepts relating to real world data analytics (correlation, regressions, ANOVA, probability distributions, etc.)
