    In the DevOps Engineer II role, engineers are responsible for implementing automation solutions that help increase the speed of our ability to deliver features to production while working with other DevOps Engineers at SelectQuote. This role manages the CI/CD pipeline with our application teams for automated deployments. They are responsible for developing the configurations for foundational components to build our development environments and provide guidance, oversight, and direction for the projects and how we manage our infrastructure within the cloud. We would like the individual in this role to have a security-based mindset, as well as the ability and desire to provide mentorship amongst peers. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Establish and adhere to development scope and timelines in accordance to overall project and in line with SelectQuote-provided development tools and processes
    • Design and create scalable, automated solutions to service our customers and internal development team
    • Document solutions to issues and communicate across teams
    • Communicate effectively and efficiently with business line stakeholder(s) and vendor partners on the technical solution development activities and deliverables
    • Consult with business line stakeholder(s) and vendor partners in an analysis role
    • Lead by example through demonstration of high performance in the areas of customer service, collaboration, teamwork, reliability, productivity, and execution

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • 3-5+ years of technical experience in either development, operations, or full-stack implementations
    • Minimum 3-5 years experience with AWS
    • At least 1-2 years of demonstrated programming capability in a high-level programming language such as Ruby, Python, Java, C#, or scripting languages
    • Demonstrated Linux or Windows command-line capability
    • Deep understanding of the core suite of AWS Services
    • Experience establishing and employing Continuous Integration practices and tools such as Jenkins, bitbucket, git or other CI tools
    • Frequent and comfortable use of configuration management automation tools such as Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform

    TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
    • Solid understanding of Javascript, Docker, Python, Bash, GitHub, Jenkins, and JIRA
    • 3-5 years of Software engineering work experience, or 3-5 DevOps experience
    • 1-2 years successful engagements providing continuous delivery solutions, preferable
