    Job Summary:

    The Pharmacy Communication Technician (PCT) assists the Pharmacist by adding and updating patient information to the pharmacy's files. The Pharmacy Communication Tech must be detail-oriented to keep prescription and patient information in the appropriate platforms.

    Essential Functions:

    • Receive inbound calls from providers and patients. Answer questions in a professional and accurate manner
    • Forward work to the appropriate department
    • Input information about patient prescriptions into record-keeping programs
    • Ensure all records are accurate and collaborate with pharmacists to ensure all information is correct.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    • Spots errors and discrepancies in data and follows procedures to investigate and correct information.
    • Performs duties and responsibilities according to the philosophy and standards of SelectRx. including conveying courtesy, respect, enthusiasm and positive attitudes in work situations with clients, peers and visitors; maintains client and associate confidentiality. The individual is responsible for understanding all the applicable policies and procedures of the department necessary to perform essential job functions as well as the employee handbook. The position may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those stated in this description as directed by the VP of Operations.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Detailed oriented and accurate
    • Efficient and accurate typing skills
    • Aptitude to develop partnerships with teams within the department and across the company
    • Ability to use multiple software programs to review patient profiles and process medication orders
    • Enters and retrieves data from the various operating systems employed for prescription processing and drug ordering and packaging.
    • High degree of Interpersonal and organizational skills

    Training and Experience:

    • High school diploma
    • Pharmacy Technician certification
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
