JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY
SellersFunding (the “Company”) is hiring a VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES (“VP OF SALES”) on a full-time basis, reporting to the CEO. The primary responsibilities of this role include overseeing all aspects of the sales function including policies, objectives, and sales initiatives while leading the inside sales, outside sales, customer success, and account management teams. The candidate filling this role will have experience building relationships; driving sales; a history of closing key accounts; the ability to develop sales plans which fulfill the growth and revenue goals of the company; and experience motivating a team of sales professionals who are focused on accelerating new business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the sales team while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high performance, and ethical behavior.
- Create clear expectations for the sales team regarding performance, in terms of activities, outcomes, and the use of internal systems.
- Lead and own the sales strategy while providing cross-functional guidance to the sales team.
- Ensure sales team is achieving quota consistently while learning and implementing our sales methodologies, including effective use of tools, training, and systems.
- Manage the sale pipeline and full-cycle business opportunities from lead generation through to closing the deal.
- Research and document industry insights across key verticals to share what you know with the team.
- Forecast sales activity and revenue achievements, as well as researching relevant targets to develop lead lists and identify new sales opportunities.
- Manage the sales strategies and priorities for tradeshows and client-facing events.
- Consistently hit sales targets and demonstrate a track record of sales achievement by building and growing a pipeline.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for company products which require a high level of product and industry knowledge.
- Take a hands-on approach to sales, ensuring a clear understanding of client needs and customer journey.
- Provide timely feedback on initiatives to enable continuous process and program improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- 5+ years of relevant complex selling experience; experience selling to both small and enterprise businesses (mainly in the financial services industry).
- 2+ years of executive leadership experience in the FinTech space, a plus.
- Experience of working within a start-up, ideally in Fintech or Payments, a plus.
- Proven experience in building and managing successful sales teams.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a passion for coaching and developing talent.
- Highly networked across retail and e-commerce enterprise customers in the US at an executive level.
- Strategic, persistent with an entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to be part of a fast-growth, start-up environment.
- Highly disciplined, with excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Communicate effectively, written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and ability to multi-task.
- Self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills to actively implement ideas in a startup environment.
- Curiosity, strong critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
