    Job Description

    The Tax & Accounting Administrative Assistant works under the supervision of the Tax & Accounting Manager. The Tax & Accounting Administrative Assistant provides support to Semaphore’s tax and accounting departments & Client Teams.     DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    · Facilitate client communication for scheduling of meetings and collecting all tax documents that are needed to prepare their tax returns.

    · Work hand in hand with Tax and Accounting professionals to facilitate and monitor workflow in each Department & Client Team.

    · Fully own administrative functions for the departments including, but not limited to tax compliance, data processing, document filing, monitoring, running project status reports, scanning, and copying.

    · Collect signed documents from clients, and mail and e-file tax returns.

    · Communicate with assigned clients.

    · Provide all requested reports to the Tax & Accounting Manager.

    · Schedule and record department and team meetings.

    SKILLS

    • Excellent computer skills and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office software

    • Accuracy and attention to detail

    • Demonstrated ability to follow through and complete assigned tasks

    • Strong oral and written communication skills

    • Excellent customer service/interpersonal skills

    QUALIFICATIONS

    · Bachelor's degree - Required

    · 1-3 years’ experience with Lacerte or other tax software - Preferred

    · 1-3 years’ experience with QuickBooks - Preferred

    · 1-3 years’ experience in a Public Accounting or Professional Services Firm – Preferred

    · Proven experience working in a complex accounting environment

    · Knowledge of tax filing and accounting processes

    · Experience with workflow & CRM software solutions
