Senior Accountant

Location: Concord, CA (100% On-Site)
Industry: Construction Materials Wholesaler / Supplier
Salary: $80,000 – $120,000 (DOE)

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a busy construction materials wholesaler and supplier. This position will play a key role in financial reporting, reconciliations, and project-based accounting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in managing accounting functions in a fast-paced, transaction-heavy environment.

• Manage full-cycle accounting, including A/P, A/R, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

• Prepare monthly financial statements, journal entries, and supporting schedules.

• Oversee job costing and project accounting, ensuring accurate allocation of materials and labor.

• Support budgeting and cash flow analysis in coordination with management.

• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and P&L accounts.

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.

• Collaborate with operations, sales, and credit departments to ensure accuracy in billing and expense tracking.

• Provide financial data and documentation for audits and tax filings.

• Identify process improvements to streamline accounting and reporting functions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-track preferred).

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in construction, distribution, or manufacturing.

• Strong understanding of job costing, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.

• Proficiency with accounting/ERP software (Agility and PMSI experience a plus).

• Advanced Excel skills and solid analytical abilities.

• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently in a fully on-site environment.
