We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join a well-established finance and accounting team supporting a stable and growing organization. This role will take meaningful ownership of core accounting functions and play an important part in the monthly close and financial reporting process.

You will work closely with a collaborative team focused on maintaining strong financial integrity, sound controls, and continuous refinement of accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead core components of the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Own designated accounting areas (lease accounting, fixed assets, investment activity, and bank reconciliations) with full accountability
- Review, analyze, and validate financial data; investigate variances and resolve discrepancies with complete supporting documentation
- Identify and implement opportunities to strengthen controls, streamline processes, and enhance reporting accuracy
- Support internal and external auditors while reinforcing a strong control environment across accounting operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- CPA designation or active pursuit strongly preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated process improvement
- Experience in multi-entity or complex organizational structures, particularly in growing organizations
- Strong proficiency in accounting systems and enabling technologies
- Insurance or financial services experience is a plus
- SEC reporting experience preferred
- High level of discretion, professionalism, analytical rigor, and collaborative approach
