Senior Accountant - Construction - Base Salary to 90k/year - Buford, GA

• AllSearch Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant with strong construction industry experience to oversee job cost accounting, financial reconciliations, accounts receivables and construction billing processes for a construction company in Georgia. This role combines project-based accounting and cost analysis with hands-on construction billing and accounts receivable responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong reconciliation and general ledger skills and a deep understanding of commercial construction billing, including AIA invoicing, schedule of values, lien waivers, and customer portals. Experience with job costing systems such as Sage Intacct (or similar construction-focused ERP systems) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
  
• Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies
  
• Prepare and post journal entries; support monthly and year-end close
  
• Monitor cash flow and assist with project-based cash forecasting
  
• Support preparation of financial statements and internal reporting
  
• Conduct job cost reviews and profitability analysis for up to 50 active projects, including: cost-to-contract analysis, change order review, cost coding accuracy, project margin analysis
  
• Prepare and submit AIA progress billings, including schedule of values
  
• Manage mid-month and end-of-month invoicing cycles (varies by project)
  
• Coordinate billing with Project Managers, Sales, and Ownership
  
• Manage customer billing portals and contract documentation, including lien waivers, bonds, and insurance
  
• Record customer payments and manage collections activity

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in commercial construction
  
• Strong knowledge of job costing and construction accounting processes
  
• Experience with AIA billing, schedule of values, and lien waivers
  
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct or similar job costing/accounting systems preferred
  
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
  
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret job cost and profitability data
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 75k - 90k/year range
• Performance-based bonus potential
