Cutting edge manufacturing company in South Los Angeles is looking for an exceptional Senior Accountant to assist in managing daily accounting functions, contributing to month-end close, and collaborating cross-functionally to support accurate and insightful financial reporting. This role offers exposure to high-impact initiatives and the opportunity to help shape scalable processes for a rapidly growing organization.
Hybrid-Remote: 3 days/wk on site
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, expense processing, vendor payments, and coding accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities: journal entries, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, and prepaid schedules.
- Assist in preparing GAAP-compliant financial statements and supporting documentation.
- Perform variance analysis, trial balance reviews, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Partner with FP&A, Operations, Engineering, and other departments to align on financial processes and reporting.
- Prepare accurate, audit-ready documentation and assist with year-end audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
- Participate in ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience; combination of public accounting and in-house preferred.
- Experience in start-up or high-growth manufacturing environments.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite).
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Highly detail-oriented and adaptable to fast-changing environments.
- Proactive and hands-on with a passion for operational excellence.
- CPA license strongly preferred.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Familiarity with defense, aerospace, or other advanced technology sectors.
