Senior Accountant (Grant Management & Compliance Specialist)

Are you a financial expert with a passion for community impact? We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to serve as our primary authority on grant financial management and compliance. This isn't just a "numbers" role—it’s a mission-critical position where you ensure the funding that fuels our community services is managed with the highest level of integrity and precision.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be the bridge between our program staff and our federal/state funders, ensuring every dollar is accounted for and every regulation is met.

    What You’ll Do

    • Master the Grant Lifecycle: From budget development and monitoring expenditures to complex closeouts, you’ll lead the agency’s grant funding activities.
    • Ensure Gold-Standard Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and manage the single audit process.
    • Provide Strategic Analysis: Conduct budget-to-actual variance analysis and translate complex financial data into actionable insights for program directors.
    • Handle Full-Cycle Accounting: Perform month-end closings, complex balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure accurate allocation of common agency costs.
    • Act as a Key Liaison: Communicate directly with grant project officers and federal agencies to resolve billing discrepancies and provide justifications.

    What You Bring

    • The Experience: 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience. Healthcare accounting (specifically in an FQHC setting) is highly preferred.
    • The Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA license is a plus.
    • The Technical Skills: Deep expertise in Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and non-profit grant accounting. You should be an Excel power user (pivot tables, vlookups) and comfortable with ERP systems (Sage Intacct experience is a "plus").
    • The Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail, a knack for solving complex puzzles, and the ability to explain technical grant regulations to non-finance teammates.

    Why Join Us?

You’ll be joining a collaborative environment where your work directly supports our organization’s mission. We offer a fast-paced, professional atmosphere where sound financial stewardship is celebrated as a cornerstone of our success.
