Senior Accountant – Oil & Gas

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)

A growing oil & gas organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accounting operations within the Land & Resource Management function. This role will work closely with leadership and contribute to key financial reporting, analysis, and compliance activities.

Responsibilities:

Review and record monthly oil & gas royalty revenue

Prepare depletion and impairment analyses

Record and review ad valorem tax accruals and payments

Maintain accurate well records in MineralSoft

Prepare financial reports and KPI analysis for management

Assist with monthly close, journal entries, and account reconciliations

Perform variance (flux) analysis

Support audit requests and ensure GAAP compliance

Assist with mineral acquisitions and onboarding of new assets

Collaborate across departments to support accounting processes

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required

3+ years of accounting experience

Oil & gas experience required

Public accounting or publicly traded company experience preferred

Strong understanding of GAAP

Experience supporting audits

MineralSoft experience preferred

CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
