As an Operations Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of accounting while supporting the month-end close process, perform variance analysis, and partner cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and finance teams to enhance financial visibility and accuracy across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with vendors and plant teams to address and correct discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve payment issues in coordination with Procurement and suppliers.
- Prepare and present price variance analyses to support customer pass-through reporting.
- Complete monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, including rebates, tariffs, freight, and in transit.
- Manage vendor claims, support collections, and compile monthly reports for executive review.
- Review freight invoices, record accruals, and investigate discrepancies.
- Record receipts for outside processing activities.
- Maintain and update standard costs; contribute to ongoing cost accounting improvements.
- Reconcile utility invoices and provide analysis to plant teams.
- Support ad hoc projects and collaborate across the Operations Accounting function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing or inventory-driven environment.
- Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or a comparable ERP system.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and multi-sheet reconciliation models.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
