    POSITION: Senior Accountant Reports to: Accounting Manager Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 Yearly

    The Senior Staff Accountant position is responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial information, including financial statements. Tasks include a review of all sub-elements of the financial statements. This position also provides both operational and programmatic support to the organization, and for budget/trend management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs, and franchisee accounting support. This position is a hybrid role and does require set days working in the corporate headquarters weekly.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    Prepare financial statements, analysis, and reports in accordance with GAAP.

    Assist in the monthly close process to ensure timely completion

    Prepare and analyze various balance sheet reconciliations including cash, prepaids, fixed assets, accounts receivable, notes receivable, accounts payable, and accrued liabilities

    Post and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments

    Prepare financial reports, other analyses, and other special projects requested by management

    Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses

    Assist in the design and preparation of budgets

    Prepare documentation for internal and external audits

    Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance efforts, including control testing and documentation

    Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

    Prepare quarterly and annual tax packages

    Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances

    Prepare and send monthly financial package to the parent company

    Perform duties in compliance with GAAP, company policies and procedures, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

    Assist with training junior/staff accountant team members

    Attend and participate in team meetings, department meetings, and trainings

    Participate and attend GS&R (Goal Setting & Review) meetings

    Cross-train/backup on other functions/duties within the accounting team

    Other duties as assigned.

    COMPETENCY, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel with experience in Pivot Tables and VLookups. and complex formulas

    Experience with accounting software (Sage preferred)

    Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles, and financial reporting standards (GAAP)

    Familiarity with finance-related systems and ERP platforms

    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint)

    Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial data accurately

    Skilled in creating financial reports, reconciliations, and spreadsheets

    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

    Knowledge of financial statements and general ledger accounting

    Ability to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions

    Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    Strong organizational and time-management skills

    Ability to prioritize effectively and work independently with minimal supervision

    High level of attention to detail and accuracy

    Composure under pressure and effective stress management

    Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

    WORK EXPERIENCE &, EDUCATION

    Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

    Broad knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)

    Three plus years of hands-on financial accounting experience

    Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and banking working knowledge

    Knowledge of the construction industry is a plus

    Must be able to stay in a stationary position up to 100% of the time

    The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

    Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, fax machine, copy machine, and computer printer

    Must be able to observe and perceive information on a computer and documents

    Must be able to communicate and converse with customers over the phone

    Occasionally will lift up to 10lbs

    Ability to safely operate a passenger vehicle

    WORK ENVIRONMENT This is a hybrid role that requires an in-office presence at the Paul Davis corporate office on designated days, as determined by their department or manager, to support team engagement and operational needs. The position involves working indoors in a climate-controlled environment, with exposure to standard office conditions, including heating, air conditioning, and typical ambient noise levels. Most work will be conducted over email, video conferencing, and telephone. Employees must have access to a stable internet connection when working out of the office. Employees must use the provided VPN technology to securely connect remotely. The successful person must be productive with minimal supervision.

    TRAVEL This position may require up to 5% travel. This position may require travel for company meetings/events and training.
