Senior Accountant – Full-Time, In-Office Location: Denver, CO. Company: Ripple Effect Consulting (on behalf of our client in structural and civil engineering)
Ripple Effect Consulting is seeking a Senior Accountant to support our client, a firm specializing in structural and civil engineering consulting services. This is a full-time, in-office, exempt position responsible for preparing financial reports, managing the general ledger, and overseeing a broad range of accounting functions to support the financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform project costing, financial analysis, and related accounting duties.
Prepare monthly balance sheets and departmental profit & loss statements.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including account setup and monthly close processes.
Lead budgeting and forecasting, including annual budget preparation, monthly variance analysis, and reporting to department stakeholders.
Collaborate cross-functionally to support company-wide financial goals and initiatives.
Provide analytical support and respond to financial data inquiries from department heads and senior management.
Reconcile bank accounts monthly, verify deposits, and resolve any banking discrepancies.
Manage accounts receivable, including billing and collections, and reconcile customer accounts.
Oversee accounts payable and ensure payments are correctly coded and processed.
Assist with annual audits by coordinating with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.
File tax documents with appropriate local, state, and federal agencies.
Monitor internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity across financial systems and processes.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience.
Core Competencies:
Strong knowledge of general and cost accounting principles.
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial compliance.
Proficiency with accounting software (Ajera preferred) and Excel.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar tools.
Compensation:
Annual Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000 (commensurate with experience)
