Senior Accountant - Real Estate Development - Base Salary to 90k/year - Davidson, NC

• Our client, a small, very well-established and rapidly growing real estate development company is seeking a Senior Accountant to add to their expanding team! The Senior Accountant will work in a dynamically evolving environment that is local to Charlotte, NC and on a hybrid schedule (mostly remote with onsite meetings in Davidson, NC a few times per month).
• This role includes lots of multi-entity coding, so experience with Gravity software (or similar) and multi-entity accounting is a huge plus!

Responsibilities:

• Financial Coding & Oversight, Policy Compliance, Intercompany Accounting (Due To / Due From), Payroll Support & Review, AP and Staff Accountant Oversight, Bank Register, Gravity Accounting Software Leadership, Improvements, Team Training
• Lead and review higher and lower-level entity financial coding and accrual entries
• Ensure financial policy compliance re: category, allocation, and documentation
• Manage complex coding needs re: Accruals, Fee calculations, Upper-level credit card allocations, Cash loan rebalancing between entities
• Monitor and reconcile all intercompany balances on a monthly basis
• Ensure proper allocation of shared costs and cash movement across the entity structure
• Proactively resolve discrepancies, Review and code payroll entries
• Review AP submissions, vendor invoices for accuracy and appropriate GL coding
• Provide oversight & corrections to Staff Accountants, ensuring timely reconciliations
• Serve as an internal Gravity software system expert with process improvements
• Deliver monthly updates and tips to the accounting team to improve use
• Support training, troubleshooting, and cross-team knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 3+ years of stable progressive experience in accounting for construction, real estate development, or property management for multi-entity accounting preferred with some intercompany loans/ transactions
• Comfortable in a heavy coding (hands-on accounting) role
• Knowledge of private equity funds & compliance a plus!
• Prefer experience with: Financial Coding & Oversight, Policy Compliance, Intercompany Accounting (Due To / Due From), Payroll Support & Review, AP and Staff Accountant Oversight, Bank Register, Gravity Accounting Software Leadership, Improvements, Team Training
• Tech savvy in Excel, QuickBooks, Net Suite, Sage, Gravity, Expensify or similar
  

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 80k - 90k/year range
