    Position Overview The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the organization’s financial activities. This position specializes in corporate fixed assets, with a focus on policy, impairments, additions, asset transfers, and hands-on management of fixed assets. The role also encompasses maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

    Manage and perform complex general ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.

    Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.

    Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.

    Assist in the design and implementation of accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency.

    Support the external audit process by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and providing required documentation.

    Stay current with accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices; ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.

    Participate in special projects, financial analyses, and process improvement initiatives as needed.

    Execute, review, and approve account reconciliations, including medical/dental reserves and insurance (W/C and G/L) reserves.

    Working Conditions

    Primarily office-based work environment.

    Use of personal protective equipment as required.

    Occasional travel may be required.

    Skills & Competencies

    Deep knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting standards (GAAP or IFRS).

    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

    Proven leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to guide and develop accounting staff.

    Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities and deadlines.

    Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.

    High ethical standards and discretion in handling confidential financial information.

    Strong critical thinking and the ability to provide actionable insights from financial analysis.

    Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.

    Education & Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    Minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate accounting or a similar role.

    At least 3 years’ experience in a corporate fixed asset role focused on policy, impairments, additions, asset transfers, and hands-on fixed asset management.

    Hands-on experience with ERP systems and financial statement analysis is advantageous.

    Demonstrated experience leading month-end and year-end closing processes and managing complex reconciliations.
