    PRIMARY FUNCTION:

    Responsible for accounting functions and financial reporting for the Society, related entities and managed chapters. Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, reconciling and consolidating transactions.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    Prepare financial statements and management reports on an interim and annual basis.

    Support annual budget development and compliance.

    Serve as a knowledgeable resource to accounting staff by providing guidance and assistance with transactional workflows when needed.

    Examine and analyze financial records and activity to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with reporting standards.

    Support project coordination and process development efforts to help streamline workflows and system integration across departments.

    Reconcile account activity across multiple systems and data sources, applying sound accounting judgment and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate records.

    Assist in updating internal dashboards and analytical reports by preparing and integrating data from multiple sources to support leadership decision-making and organizational insight.

    Maintain and enhance accounting policies and procedures to support effective internal controls and reduce operational risk.

    Manage compliance reporting requirements, including sales tax filings and PAC ethics reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

    Participate actively in the annual audit process by preparing required schedules and coordinating requests and communications with independent auditors and tax preparers.

    Assist with payroll processing as needed by reviewing bi-weekly payroll, benefit deductions, payroll taxes, and retirement plan funding to help ensure accurate and timely completion.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor's degree in accounting.

    Five years of accounting experience.

    Prior experience with modern SaaS-based ERP platforms required (Sage Intacct preferred; NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, or comparable systems also considered).

    Experience with cloud-based workflow or business tools (e.g., Monday.com, CRM platforms) and advanced Excel proficiency including pivot tables, formulas, and reporting features.

    Adaptability and curiosity in applying AI-supported tools and process improvements within the organization’s technology ecosystem.

    Highly organized, analytical, and detail focused, with strong problem-solving and time-management abilities.

    Clear and confident communicator with strong writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

    Able to manage multiple projects, dive into detailed analysis when needed, and work effectively both independently and in collaboration with the team.

    PREFERRED BACKGROUND:

    Master’s degree in business administration or related field.

    Licensed certified public accountant.

    Non-profit experience.

    Background in accounting roles that include growing responsibility and interaction with senior leadership such as a Controller, CFO, or executive team.
