The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation process across multiple entities, ensuring accurate intercompany eliminations, and preparing consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP. As the role evolves, this position will take on increasing exposure to FP&A functions, including forecasting, variance analysis, and business partnering with operational leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation process across multiple entities and business units
- Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations to ensure accurate consolidated results
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with multi-currency consolidation and foreign currency translation, if applicable
- Partner with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as the role grows into a hybrid accounting/FP&A function
- Analyze consolidated financial results and provide commentary on trends, variances, and key drivers to senior leadership
- Support the preparation of board and management reporting packages
- Assist with technical accounting research and documentation under current ASC guidance, particularly related to consolidations and business combinations
- Support external audit requests, preparing schedules and documentation related to consolidations
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate the consolidation and reporting process
- Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, tax, treasury, and operational teams to ensure accurate and timely financial data
- Participate in ad hoc projects, including M&A integration, new entity onboarding, and system implementations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
- 3-5+ years of accounting experience; public accounting background strongly preferred
- Experience with multi-entity consolidations required
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including intercompany accounting and consolidation principles
- Interest in developing FP&A skills, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables); experience with consolidation software (HFM, OneStream, Hyperion, or similar) and ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) a plus
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to partner across accounting, finance, and operational teams
