Our client is a large, publicly traded organization seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to join their team. This role will be responsible for a portfolio of several assets, responsible for fixed assets, intercompany accounting, reporting and ensuring regulatory compliance.
This is a permanent, direct hire opportunity with a hybrid schedule based in Northern VA. This opportunity offers a robust compensation package including bonus, and employer covered healthcare.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for monthly close in accordance with GAAP and/or local accounting standards, to include recording of journal entries, analysis, inquiries, and review.
Review the accounting activities including proper recording of fees, working capital and intercompany lease expense.
Perform variance analysis against prior year, forecasts and budgets as necessary.
Review and analyze operational balance sheet reconciliations prepared by third party managers.
Prepare and/or review balance sheet reconciliations for ownership balance sheet accounts.
Calculate and account for hotel ownership expenses, including real estate taxes, property insurance, ground leases, etc.
Ensuring internal controls are maintained for all accounting aspects and provide supporting documentation to internal/external auditors
Mentor and assist in training the junior level associates as necessary.
Prepare the consolidated financial statements and other information included in quarterly and annual SEC filings, ensuring compliance with all reporting and disclosure requirements under GAAP and SEC.
Prepare subsidiary and other financial statements submitted externally to regulators, lenders and other parties for various reporting obligations, ensuring compliance with all reporting and disclosure requirements.
