Looking for a role where your operational accounting skills actually change the business — not just maintain the close?
This role is built for someone who’s already mastered the fundamentals (month-end, team leadership, ERP projects) and wants to step into a lean, fast-moving public company where they can build, influence, and improve.
You’ll report to a Controller who’s hands-on, collaborative, and focused on developing people — not just reviewing numbers.
Why this might be the right move for you:
?? You’ve already owned monthly close and know how to lead a team through it
?? You’ve touched (or led) ERP implementations, and know how systems impact the bottom line
?? You care about clean audits, tighter processes, and stronger controls — and you know how to get there
?? You’re ready for more visibility, more impact, and a role where your leadership matters
The Company:
A small but established public company in Nashville, entering a phase of transformation and improvement. High visibility. Strong leadership. And a chance to make real, lasting impact in the finance organization.
Important Notes:
This is an onsite role in Nashville (Burton Hills area)
Flexibility is offered for family/life balance
No relocation offered
The Opportunity:
Overhaul and lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes
Guide the integration of a new ERP — from configuration to rollout
Strengthen internal controls and drive SOX compliance
Prepare and review financials, reconciliations, and reporting packages
Lead and mentor staff accountants through daily and monthly workflows
Help shape the accounting team as the business scales and transforms
Report directly to a Controller who supports autonomy, development, and results
The Right Fit:
?? 6+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 in leadership
?? Deep ownership of close, reporting, and team oversight
?? Strong systems background — ERP upgrades, implementations, or module rollouts
?? Public company experience or comfort with controls and complexity
?? Thrives in a role with both structure and change — you’re a builder, not a maintainer
If you’re looking for a high-impact accounting leadership role in a business that’s evolving — this is one worth exploring.
