    The Sr. Analyst- us Core Product Control (GDM) will be reviewing and providing guidance to the nearshore team when performing the daily Profit & Loss (P&L) production and GL reconciliations for the GDM desks. The Sr. Analyst will be a person with strong knowledge of how different Global Markets work, risk based attribution and understanding of existing processes/systems used for calculation of the valuations and reporting requirements. Those skills are needed to help the team troubleshooting daily issues, identify errors and their sources before reporting P&L and help on understanding main drivers of P&L movements.

    Here’s what you can expect:

    • Review Daily P&L for various GDM, Securities Financing and Portfolio Management businesses providing effective support for local, nearshore and offshore teams.

    • Ensuring that the Near and Offshore teams are effectively managing the day to day tasks and provide support and guidance when necessary.

    • Review all aspects of Reconciling Daily, MTD and YTD P&L and Balance Sheet to General Ledger. Manage queries from FO, Finance, MRM and other Stakeholders for various businesses.

    • Work with the FO and manage Stakeholder queries in new initiatives, different projects and continuous enhancements, aiming a robust control environment. Also participate in internal and external Audit and Assurance agendas.

    • Participate proactively in the implementation of the Core PC model, helping the integration of PnL and GL tasks under the same process owners, making sure the control environment is maintained or strengthened, and the resulting processes are properly documented.

    For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $101,700 and $130,000.

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

    You’ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

    • You’ll have experience in product control/valuation control environment including the understanding of risk based Greeks (delta, gamma, vega, etc.).

    • You will be able to demonstrate good communication, analytical thinking and problem solving skills, ability to multitask and a commitment to quality customer service.

    • You’ll have experience with Excel, ideally at Macro/VB level and knowledge of the following systems: PC Portal, PC Portal 2.0, FTP, Qlik, Pegasus, Summit, Impact, Global Calypso, River and Bloomberg.
