Senior Application Developer

Duration: 1 year (with possible extensions) Location: Washington, DC

Position Overview

As part of a development team, the Senior Application Developer will support the design, development, and maintenance of the Currency Data Accountability Platform (CDAP)—a cloud‑native application leveraging AWS services. This role requires strong hands‑on development experience with Python, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and container‑based AWS architectures, along with experience operating in a highly regulated environment.

The selected candidate will contribute to solution design, documentation, remediation, and unit testing as part of the CI/CD and deployment lifecycle while working within an Agile development framework.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain cloud‑based services using AWS technologies

Write and maintain Python backend code and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK

Model and implement business processes using AWS Step Functions

Develop container‑based applications utilizing REST APIs

Build web‑based front‑end applications using Angular or React (TypeScript)

Implement logging and auditing using AWS CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail in a regulated environment

Perform remediation, debugging, and unit testing as part of the development and deployment process

Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate within cross‑functional teams

Contribute to solution design and produce required technical documentation

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related IT field, or equivalent professional experience

Minimum 7 years of experience as a programmer/analyst developing software using SDLC and Agile methodologies

Strong experience developing cloud‑native applications on AWS
