OCFL (offices in Hanover and Westborough, MA) is seeking a Senior Associate or an Of Counsel attorney who is confident in the courtroom, strategic in case management, empathetic to what clients are going through, and passionate about making an impact. You'll be handling complex, high-conflict litigation in emotionally charged cases with autonomy while assisting in mentoring junior attorneys or family law residents and collaborating with a values-driven team. The position requires someone based in Massachusetts, although much of our legal work is done virtually, so long as the employee remains in good standing. Court appearances are primarily in person, which could require you to be in court from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., so the ability to get there and stay there with no distractions is crucial. Responsibilities: • Independently manage a caseload of family law matters from attorney consultation meetings to new client intake to full resolution • Conduct hearings, trials, mediations, and depositions • Draft and review pleadings, motions, separation agreements, and discovery responses • Provide strategic advice and maintain strong client communication throughout the case lifecycle • Supervise and mentor our junior legal team and paralegals, as applicable • Collaborate with leadership to improve the firm's process and uphold C.H.A.N.G.E. values (Courageousness, Honesty, Ambition, Navigation, Growth, Empowerment) • Seek out client feedback and future referrals for a job well done Qualifications: • Must hold a valid license to practice law in Massachusetts and be in good standing • Must have 5+ years of family law litigation experience (if less, ask about our Associate Attorney position) • Must be able to attend court in various counties within Massachusetts • Strong need for someone in Plymouth County, but open to residence in other counties we regularly practice in (which is in most counties except for the far western side of the state) • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations • Proven ability to manage deadlines, high-stakes cases, and client expectations with professionalism and empathy • Just as good a negotiator as a litigator • utilizes proactive and problem-solving thinking Base Salary plus Performance Bonuses so that your annual salary (not including benefits) will likely be anywhere from $135,000 to upwards of $200,000. • QSEHRA Health Reimbursement Program • 401(k) Match program • Paid time off and holidays • Student Loan Reimbursement Program • Professional Development and CLE opportunities • Hybrid work environment availability Compensation: $125,000 - $200,000 yearly
