Responsibilities: Senior Attorney – Family Law ****We’re seeking a Senior Attorney to join our team and provide compassionate, high-quality representation in family law. In this role, you’ll manage a full caseload—from intake to resolution—including divorce, custody, support, property division, and domestic violence matters. You’ll guide clients through some of life’s most challenging transitions with skill, strategy, and empathy. What You’ll DoRepresent : Serve as trusted counsel, guiding clients through complex and emotionally charged family law matters. • Litigate : Handle all phases of litigation—pleadings, discovery, negotiations, hearings, trials, and post-judgment proceedings—with a strategic, results-driven approach. • Advocate : Present persuasive, thematically driven arguments in court and settlement settings while maintaining the highest ethical standards. • Negotiate : Lead settlement discussions and mediations to achieve fair, practical resolutions. • Strategize : Develop and execute tailored legal strategies aligned with each client’s goals. • Collaborate : Partner with fellow attorneys, paralegals, and staff to ensure cases are managed effectively and efficiently. • Connect : Build strong client relationships through responsive communication, transparency, and solution-focused support. • Deliver : Meet an annual billable requirement of 1,560 hours, reflecting consistent dedication to client service. • Manage : Take ownership of case management, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance with firm standards. • Learn : Stay current on developments in family law and maintain continuing legal education. Qualifications: • Must hold a valid license to practice law in Maryland and preferably in DC and/or Virginia. • Demonstrated experience of 3-5 years in handling family law cases in Maryland and/or DC. • Proven track record in litigating and negotiating with successful courtroom experience. • Ability to collaborate effectively with other legal professionals and support staff to achieve optimal client outcomes. • Excellent skills in legal research, writing, and oral advocacy, with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities to advocate for clients both in and out of court. • Comfortable and proficient with technology to enhance client accessibility and team collaboration. • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple cases, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve billable targets while delivering top-tier client service. • Approach every case with empathy, compassion, and a strong commitment to understanding and meeting client needs. • Fluency in Spanish is an added advantage.
