Responsibilities: What You'll Do: As our Systems Attorney, you will be the backbone of our legal team's operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include: Legal Operations & Management: • Owning and optimizing our legal onboarding process, ensuring efficient case assignment and workflow. • Driving data integrity and utilizing cutting-edge legal tech to enhance team processes. • Overseeing the Legal Case Manager and Client Happiness Coordinator, providing guidance and support. • Collaborating closely with finance, revenue, and other operations departments to align legal strategies with firm-wide goals. • Identifying and implementing training, recruitment, and client opportunities, keeping our firm at the forefront of legal trends. • Managing and reporting on our bi-weekly billing process, ensuring financial goals are met. • Leading staffing decisions for the legal team, ensuring we attract and retain top talent. Case Management & Oversight: • Supervising the weekly Case Review Process and Monthly Client Update Process to ensure effective caseload management and timely client communication. • Ensuring work performed by legal contractors meets our rigorous firm ƒstandards. • Overseeing the "Stop Work Process" to prevent overworking client matters. • Providing direct legal coverage and support to attorneys as needed, ensuring seamless case progression. Client & Employee Relations: • Taking the lead on resolving complex client escalations, ensuring a positive client experience. • Implementing and maintaining firm policies, systems, and procedures in conjunction with the Operations Team. • Coaching and developing the legal team on processes and procedures, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. • Promoting mutual respect and collaboration across the legal team. Strategic & Administrative: • Analyzing legal team billing reports and metrics to drive profitability. • Staying abreast of changes in the law and firm IT policies, ensuring compliance and best practices. • Actively developing and maintaining Truce Law's relationships with law firms and community stakeholders in the Pacific Northwest. • Offering new insights and driving innovation in our programs and processes. Qualifications: Who You Are: You are an experienced attorney with a strong operational mindset and proven leadership capabilities. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are committed to both legal excellence and team development. Qualifications: • A current WA State Bar License is required. • Minimum of 10 years practicing law in a relevant practice area. • At least 10 years of experience practicing law in a mid-sized (4+ attorneys with 20+ staff members total) or larger law firm setting. • Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising or leading a team of at least 5 members. • Proven experience managing projects, processes, and systems within a legal or professional services environment. • Strong record of cultural competence and exceptional cross-cultural communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both orally and in writing. • Authentically engaged leader with excellent professional judgment and the ability to critically assess challenges and propose solutions. • A deep understanding of and ability to work and lead effectively with internal and external stakeholders. • Proficient in legal case management, sales, and pleadings software. • Comfortable and effective working in a remote environment. • Certified or willing to become certified in collaborative law. • Knowledge of RCW and local court rules.
