Position Summary
Basis North America is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Senior Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to oversee the company’s daily accounting operations using QuickBooks Desktop and support accurate and timely financial reporting.
This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys working independently, takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records, and is motivated to improve accounting processes within a growing organization.
The selected candidate will work closely with company leadership and our external CPA to maintain strong internal controls, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support the company’s overall financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full-cycle accounting process using QuickBooks Desktop.
Maintain the General Ledger and ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
Prepare and post journal entries.
Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Complete month-end and year-end closing activities.
Prepare monthly financial statements, including:
Profit and Loss Statement
Balance Sheet
Cash Flow Statement
Monitor daily cash flow and assist with cash flow forecasting.
Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
Assist with budgeting and financial planning activities.
Prepare financial reports and analyses for management.
Support payroll accounting and related reconciliations.
Coordinate with the company’s external CPA regarding tax filings, financial reporting, and year-end activities.
Support audit requests and provide the required financial documentation.
Maintain accounting policies, procedures, documentation, and internal controls.
Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting principles and company procedures.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of five years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop is required.
Strong knowledge of:
General Ledger accounting
Journal entries
Month-end closing
Bank reconciliations
Financial statement preparation
Fixed asset accounting
Cash flow management
Accrual accounting
Solid understanding of U.S. accounting principles.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including financial reporting and data analysis.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

W-2 payroll
Independent contractor and 1099 accounting
Sales tax
Budget preparation
Financial forecasting
KPI reporting

Industrial services, engineering, construction, staffing, or project-based organizations
