Senior Business Analyst – Temporary - On‑Site Only

The Senior Business Analyst provides onsite (no remote work) business analysis, process improvement, and systems support for Pierce County Library System. This role places strong emphasis on ServiceNow ITSM workflows and service catalog development , including optimizing processes, building automations, and creating dashboards that improve service delivery.
The position also supports the Microsoft 365 platform (Entra administration, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Power BI) and translates business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. The analyst applies data‑governance principles, ensures data quality, and coordinates projects to support efficient, user‑focused enterprise applications across PCLS.
Hiring Range: $88,858 - $103,043 annually; Pay Grade Range: $88,858 - $126,714 annually
Compensation
Pierce County Library System offers a compensation program which recognizes qualifications and experience relevant to each position. The starting pay is established typically within the hiring range below based upon the experience of the individual hired into the role. Our compensation package also includes annual increases for each additional year of experience and tenure in the role, up to the maximum (current year maximum outlined in pay grade range above). Eligibility for overtime is exclusive to positions which are FLSA status non-exempt below.

Schedule: Monday-Friday: 8:30am-5:00pm.

Position Summary:
Highest levels of responsibility to identify, plan, coordinate and implement all necessary Business Analysis Services for broad program areas and complex business processes. Responsible for establishing best practices and toolkits for the Business Analysis Services. Leads others in developing skills and adopting processes through coaching, mentoring, partnering and hands-on training opportunities. Collaborates with customers, end-users and technology staff in delivery of applications and services.
Business Analysis Services include expertise and the ability to lead the following activities; facilitation, project management, agile leadership, research analysis, business process analysis, usability testing, process improvement/lean facilitation, requirements analysis and management, organizational change management, implementation coordination, usability analysis, testing, training, user acceptance coordination and post implementation support.
Supervisory Relationships:
Reports to a manager in the IT Department; no supervisory responsibility is exercised.

Work performed in a store environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopies and fax machines. Use of personal cell phone for customer contact and follow up and personal computer tablet for room sketching. Regularly required to view, see, manipulate and handle product to demonstrate to customers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee continuously walks or stands on the store’s showroom floor. Stands for extended periods of time. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and required to lift and carry small items up to 30 pounds, such as lamps, etc
