Senior Buyer - Scrap Metal - Base Salary to 175k/year - Indianapolis, IN
Our client, a scrap recycling company is seeking a Senior Buyer to join their team in Indiana.
In this role, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for purchasing non-ferrous and ferrous scrap material from retail customers and dealers, with the primary function of purchasing scrap for specific regions in Illinois/Indiana.
Responsibilities:
Secure material from existing and potential customers by visiting the customer facility or contacting virtually
Develop and maintain active and potential customer lists with action plans for customer calls
Provide a written plan for material purchase growth for the operations within the assigned regions
Quote pricing for new material based on customer requirements
Follow up by phone or visit on quotations submitted to customers
Answer customer inquiries
Establishes professional customer ands vendor relationships
Coordinate purchase activities with facility managers
Prepares forms for price quotations on items not contained in pricing sheet and forwards these forms to the scale clerk or corporate office
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a Buyer in the Scrap/Recycling Industry
Local candidate to Indiana or willing to relocate (relocation provided)
Comfortable traveling between IL and IN for customer visits
