    Job Description

    The Senior Claims Analyst manages, processes, negotiates, and settles product liability, injury claims, and litigation for FBIN products globally with the support of third party administrators, third party experts and legal counsel. This position serves as the primary liaison between internal teams including risk management, quality, engineering, legal, finance, customer care, sales and external groups including insurers, attorneys, claimants, distributors, builders, and installers.

    Responsibilities

    • Independently manage assigned claims throughout the claim lifecycle
    • Analyze, manage, and process high value and high risk product liability, injury claims and litigation
    • Investigate and gather information to determine exposure from claim
    • Develop strategies to manage claims to an appropriate and timely resolution
    • Recommend settlement strategies
    • Evaluate claims for validity and proper valuation
    • Regularly communicate with external stakeholders including insurers, attorneys, sales reps, builders, plumbers, retailers, wholesalers, and consumers
    • Coordinate with others including third party adjusters, third party experts, local counsel, and platform engineers to vet liability, risks, and costs
    • Collaborate with technical experts to execute product testing
    • Acquire third party experts and other external resources as needed to support claims investigation
    • Validate cause of claim against known or unknown defects and review findings with FBIN technical experts
    • Open Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) requests as necessary and provide supporting data
    • Compile claim information into executive summaries to facilitate technical review and approval
    • Partner with the third party administrator and FBIN legal team for claims awareness, review, litigation, and recommended action or settlement agreements
    • Negotiate claim settlements up to designated authority level
    • Close and process claims in a timely fashion
    • Support team and cross functional projects and continuous improvement efforts
    • Provide training to internal stakeholders including the contact center, sales, etc.
    • Pull and analyze reports to track claim trends to mitigate future risk
    • Travel to support claims-related activities as necessary

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 7+ years of experience in claims management or legal
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with all levels of staff, customers, suppliers, and operations
    • Proficient in processing and communication tools: SAP, RMIS, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and internet navigation
    • Experience with Connected or Smart products a plus
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in fast paced, changing environment
    • Ability to travel up to 10%

    Salary Range

    • A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $63,000 USD - $97,000 USD.

      Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $63,000 USD - $97,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
