Senior Construction Estimator - Commercial GC - Base Salary to 130k/year - Dublin, OH

• Our client is a local family-owned GC that takes on projects nationwide, with a focus on Ohio. They work on everything from retail to offices and medical, all private sector construction between 10k and 20 million. They have been in business since 1977, and pride themselves on their repeat work earned and their collaborative working culture.
• In this role, the Senior Construction Estimator will be responsible for providing estimates for schematic, design development and permit level drawings for negotiated projects. This will involve working mostly out of the office, with some time for nearby field visits. The Senior Construction Estimator will handle everything in the preconstruction phase, working on multiple projects at a time and handing the project off to the PMs at the appropriate stage.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with company leadership in scheduling estimating calendar and assigning projects to estimating team
• Provide accurate budgets for projects in the conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documents level of a project design
• Provide hard bid, competitive estimating for plan and spec projects.
• Be able to handle multiple estimates at one time
• Present estimates and budgets to customers, providing backup documentation as needed
• Work with designers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal associates as needed
• Work with project owners from initial project conception to provide budgetary pricing and input
• Attend pre-bid meetings and preliminary job site inspections
• Successfully read and interpret plans and specifications, including being able to identify potential constructability or schedule discrepancies
• Provide potential value engineering options for clients by utilizing your own experience and expertise, that of our team, and of the subcontractors
• Obtain and qualify bids from subcontractors, suppliers, or other vendors
• Estimate General Conditions and coordinate execution strategy with management
• Investigate and understand escalation trends and/or procurement constraints for labor and materials
• Assist in maintaining successful subcontractor relationships
• Participate in subcontractor outreach
• Work primarily out of the Dublin office, traveling to job sites occasionally

Qualifications:

• 5+ years commercial GC Estimating experience
• Must be able to work full time in the Dublin, OH office, with occasional travel for site walks
• Proficiency with Excel and Estimating software required
• Strong ability to read, understand and navigate architectural, civil, and MEP plans and specifications

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 110k – 130k/year range
