  • Responsibilities

Our client, a growing technology and communications organization, is looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to help protect and modernize their environment during a period of significant infrastructure change. This is a hands on role for someone who wants ownership over real architecture decisions, not just upkeep of what's already in place.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and implement security controls across a hybrid on premises and cloud environment
    • Lead email security initiatives including threat protection, phishing defense, and mail flow hardening within Microsoft 365
    • Support the organization's migration toward a fully cloud based environment
    • Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents across endpoints, identity, and network layers
    • Partner with IT and infrastructure teams to align security practices with the cloud migration roadmap
    • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and remediation planning
    • Maintain and improve identity and access management policies within Microsoft 365 and Azure AD
    • Document security architecture, policies, and incident response procedures as the environment evolves

    Requirements

    • 4+ years of experience in a cybersecurity engineering or security operations role
    • Deep hands on experience with Microsoft 365 security tooling, including Defender, Exchange Online Protection, and Purview
    • Proven experience securing environments during a cloud migration, ideally on premises to Azure or similar
    • Strong understanding of email security threats and mitigation strategies
    • Relevant certifications strongly preferred (Security+, CISSP, AZ 500, or similar)
    • Experience with identity and access management, including conditional access and MFA policy design
    • Comfortable operating in a hybrid infrastructure environment with competing priorities
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain security tradeoffs to non technical stakeholders
