  • Responsibilities

    An international manufacturer is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join their team in Greenville, SC.They will play a key role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of high-voltage switchgear products.

    This position is responsible for creating and maintaining product designs, supporting manufacturing operations, driving product enhancements, and contributing to new product development initiatives.

    The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design experience, proficiency with 3D CAD software, and a passion for developing reliable, high-quality engineered products.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and develop components and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software.
    • Create detailed manufacturing drawings and assembly documentation.

    • Perform engineering calculations to validate product performance and reliability.

    • Support new product development and continuous improvement projects.

    • Develop and execute Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to improve production efficiency.

    • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and field service teams to implement design improvements.

    • Assist with product validation testing, test plans, and technical documentation.

    • Support cost reduction initiatives through design optimization.

    • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.

    • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and customer requirements.


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.

    • 3+ years of product design experience using Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD software.

    • Experience creating detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings.

    • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering calculations.

    • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

    • ERP experience preferred, ideally SAP.

    • Knowledge of high-voltage transmission/distribution equipment, circuit breakers, IEEE, or IEC standards is highly preferred.

    • Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
